U.S. IMPORTS & EXPORTS

19 x 13" Data Visualization Poster, 2017

I created this project to help the audience
visualize the amount of trade the United States does, specifically focusing on the imports and exports of textiles. I chose to narrow in and focus specifically on women's apparel, keeping in mind that women's apparel has a higher impact on the negative effects of fast fashion. Therefore, this poster helps the audience understand how much women's clothing the United States is importing, contributing to harmful consequences of fast fashion. Because it spans over 21 years (1995-2015), this graph displays how these trading dynamics have changed over time, in addition to the cost in U.S. dollars.

*This piece was displayed in the USF "XARTS After Dark" art show, an exhibition of art provided by students of all backgrounds with artwork of all mediums for a night of collaboration and self-expression.
