Interactive Website, 2017
This interactive website depicts facial feature altering and makeup, in order to demonstrate what people will go through to “beautify” their facial appearance. It comments on how people constantly find “imperfections” with their appearances and how they are never satisfied with the way they look. This idea strives to show the user that no one is perfect and that instead of attempting to fix our “flaws,” we should embrace them and recognize our natural beauty. Additionally, this website challenges the idea of beauty by constantly asking the user if they are satisfied. My goal for this project was to establish that general beauty standards can be unrealistic, so one should never feel that facial feature altering and makeup are a “must” or a “need” in order to be seen as beautiful in today’s society.
