This was a personal project where the designer chose to create a zine that acts as a homage to the song, “Video Games,” by Lana Del Rey. The designer did all of the handwriting and illustrations herself, exhibiting her unique, individualistic style, which portray visually how she personally relates to the song’s message and how she feels when listening to it. Not only does this zine act as a platform for the designer to express her own connection to the song, but it also reveals Del Rey’s thoughts and inspiration behind the lyrics as she explains how the song came to be. The goal of this zine is to allow the reader to view the song through a new lens – from a different perspective – in the hopes that they will gain a new understanding of this song’s message.
